Re: Zouma updates?
I had a mate who did his ACL back in the early 80s, they injected his knee with cortisone and said he would be able to play for another year at the most.

He finally retired from playing in 2010.

In a wheelchair now though!!!!!!!!

( He isn't really but he does have arthritis in his knee )

''Surely Moyes and the medical staff have to intervene and tell him he has to have a scan as a precaution?''

Well if you say so.

Re: Zouma updates?
Tell him to have a scan and pick Diop for the Watford match or agree with his wonderful, selfless decision and keep their fingers crossed.

Re: Zouma updates?
Why can’t he have a scan and play tomorrow?

twoleftfeet 5:39 Mon Feb 7
Re: Zouma updates?
Because, as we have found out during the pandemic, Doctors and scientists are very risk adverse so they might tell him to have a week off when really all he needs is a paracetamol and some deep heat.

Re: Zouma updates?
Can someone playback to Noble his corners and free kicks please......leaving out the very few he's got right.....has he in the last 5 years?

He needs to step away from this right of passage he's rarely got right.

So what do you suggest? Play him against Watford and keep our fingers crossed his knee doesn’t pop? The bloke could hardly move at the end of the game on Sunday and it’s the same knee he’s injured before. It’s fucking amateur hour if we let him play without having it scanned to see what’s going on

Re: Zouma updates?
Just read the transcript of Moyes' conference. On the injury update no mention at all of Zouma- just Masuaku and Lanzini, so we can asssume he's fine?

Raymond Reddington 6:21 Mon Feb 7
Re: Zouma updates?
He's fucked, yarmolenko's playing CB with Dawson tomorrow

Re: Zouma updates?
Not a bad idea Raymond, it worked for Kenny Burns.

Re: Zouma updates?
Should never have been playing anyway on Saturday.

Idiotic idea to play your best centre back and arguably best defender, who's just come back back from a serious knee injury, against a non league side on a non league pitch.

El Scorchio 7:05 Mon Feb 7
Re: Zouma updates?
To be fair it was a freak accident with him standing on the ball so I'm not sure it can be attributed to anything other than just shit luck, but I would say that I'd have had Dawson start that match regardless. By far the most suited to coping with that style of football and atmosphere out of the three of them.

13 Brentford Rd 7:25 Mon Feb 7
Re: Zouma updates?
Agree about Dawson.
Zouma seemed to catch his studs in the turf as he slid.
Would he have trodden on the ball and caught this studs in the turf as he slid, on a better pitch?
Impossible to say but maybe one or both those things may not have happened if not for the pitch?

El Scorchio 8:56 Mon Feb 7
Re: Zouma updates?
I'd have to look, but my impression was not that the pitch caused him to step on the ball, but him stepping on the ball led him have to put all his weight on his right leg while falling on that same leg simultaneously with his weight on it but not over it, which led to him jarring/hurting/unusually stressing that knee because it needed to bend acutely. I'm not sure the pitch was actually responsible for anything, but I'd need to see it again to check if I'm wrong.

Re: Zouma updates?
I'm still not convinced with Zouma Dawson is more reliable at the moment.
Diop shouldn't be anywhere near the first eleven.

Re: Zouma updates?
Story gonna break tomorrow about zouma. Animal abuse apparently he has been videoed drop kicking a cat and slapping it across his kitchen.
At least he didn’t tread on it, could’ve fucked his other knee
